Nostr Identity
When you sign in, we receive your Nostr public key (npub). This is the only identifier we use for your account. We do not collect your email address, phone number, or any other personal contact information.
Profile Information
Your display name and profile picture are fetched from the Nostr network based on your public key. We cache this information temporarily to improve performance. You control this data through your Nostr profile, not through NostrDeals.
Transaction Data
When you make a purchase, we record the transaction details (deal purchased, amount paid, timestamp) to provide you with access to your purchased products and for record-keeping purposes. Bitcoin transactions are processed through the Lightning Network and are inherently pseudonymous.
Technical Data
We may collect basic technical information such as browser type and IP address for security purposes and to ensure our platform functions correctly. This data is not linked to your Nostr identity.
What We Don't Collect
- Email addresses or phone numbers
- Passwords (Nostr uses cryptographic keys)
- Credit card or banking information
- Physical address or location data
- Social security numbers or government IDs

We use the information we collect solely to:

- With Sellers: When you purchase a deal, the seller receives confirmation of the purchase to fulfill your order. They receive only the minimum information necessary.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. The use of Nostr cryptographic keys significantly reduces security risks associated with traditional password-based systems.
